IPM was recently instructed to conduct significant remedial works on the roof of a major building at Oxford Business Park.
Various site surveys were conducted resulting in a recommendation that due to the perished condition of the asphalt roof areas it would not be cost-effective to install a simple UV coating. A UV coating would not stop the progression of defects already present. A waterproofing system combing multiple layers of a liquid coating with a polyester reinforcing fleece was recommended and implemented.
The chosen system would have a 20year insured product guarantee. This submission was approved and became a significant project for IPM and the client.
The works consisted of the provision of all the RAMS and implementation checks. IPM provided all the necessary scaffolding with internal and external access.
Works conducted included external gutter lining with due attention to existing wall overflow spouts. various flat roof areas including the plant room internally as well as externally. All waste provisions were catered for and the site was kept operational whilst the works were implemented.
The whole process proved cost-effective for the client and has exceeded expectations on behalf of the client who now has an insured 20year guarantee on the resulting fix to, what was, an ongoing area of concern with constant ongoing leaks. Another success delivered by IPM.
