PlasticFreeJuly: Planter

As part of our #PlasticFreeJuly initiative, we will be posting ideas on ways of recycling plastic. This time, we are looking at a planter from an old plastic drinks bottle.

Items Required

Large Plastic Bottle

Scissors

Acrylic Paint ( colour of choice)

Indoor Plant

Compost

Selection of decorations

How to

Cut the plastic bottle to size

Paint the bottle colour of choice and leave it to dry. This may require a second coat.

There are many different ways to decorate the pot by using different colours and fabrics, in this case, we painted a face and used sticky eyes, which we bought from hobby craft.

We then half-filled the planter with compost and placed our plant into position to check the height. Once we were happy with the height we topped up the compost and then watered.
