IPM were recently tasked with supplying and installing planters with plenty of colour to the front of one of our clients' buildings in London.
The idea for the planters was to prevent any damage to the marble stone flooring caused by skateboards. The planters needed to be durable, heavy, and dark to match the building frames.
Heavy duty planters were sourced from one of our suppliers in a matt black 1m x 40cm. The base was filled with gravel, to allow for drainage, then a water tank was installed in each planter, this was to ensure moisture was released into the soil throughout the week. They were filled with topsoil and compost before a mixture of colorful shrubs was planted throughout. The planters were finished off with gravel around the top leaving a 50mm gap from the edge. In the end they weighed so much they couldn’t be knocked over and would need to be emptied by half just to move again.
Our client was over the moon with the 10 planters, particularly how they were presented in front of the reception area where there is heavy foot traffic in the center of London.
